BAKING SAT 17 OCT – TOWN HALL SQ MARKET & COLLECTIONS FROM MY HOME

All-butter croissants

The Taste Cheshire Market on Chester Town Hall Square on Sat 17 Oct starts at 10am.  My table should be in the usual spot and Mary will be selling on my behalf.  It’s not necessary to order but you can do so if you wish. Pay in cash or by cheque. There are two ATMs very close to my table.

It’s essential to order if you prefer to collect from my home in CH2 between 12 noon and 2pm. If you haven’t been here before I’ll send directions when I confirm your order.

Delivery can be arranged in or close to Chester (volunteers will be much appreciated).

I’m planning to bake:

BREAD with BAKERS’ YEAST

400g Miracle Bread – £3.00

Miracle baps (in bags of four) – £3.00

400g Traditional White – £2.50

400g Rosemary Bread – £3.00

400g Wheat and Rye with Olives and Sun-dried Tomatoes – £3.00

600g Wheat and Rye with caraway seeds – £3.30

REAL SOURDOUGH BREAD (means naturally leavened without bakers’ yeast)

570g Wholegrain Stoneground Rye Sourdough tin loaf with figs and fennel seeds – £3.40

800g Wholegrain Stoneground Wheat Sourdough tin loaf – £3.40

OTHER YEASTED PRODUCTS

Teacakes (in bags of four) – £3.80

Giant Chelsea Buns – £1.80 each

All-butter croissants – £1.00 each

CAKES etc

Almond Slice with jam I’ve made from naturally-grown strawberries from my garden (no chemical pesticides, insecticides, fertilisers) £2.50 per pack of 2 slices

Apple Cake with naturally-grown apples from my garden (no chemical pesticides, insecticides, fertilisers) £2.50 per pack of 2 portions

Apricot Energy Bars with walnuts and local raw honey from Mickle Trafford – £2.50 per pack of two bars

Harry’s Cake (for lovers of nuts and ginger) – £16.00 per kg. Whole cakes cost between £7.50 and £9.00.  Half-cakes are also available.

Walnut Pie – £3 per slice

Lemon Drizzle Cake – £4.00

Bara-brith – £4.00

SAVOURIES

Savoury Brioche Tart with tomatoes and basil or with broccoli and stilton- £13 per whole round tart (approx 25 cm dia x 4cm deep),  £7 per half tart, £3.60 per quarter tart. One quarter is sufficient for two portions. Will keep in your fridge until Wed 23 Sept or can be frozen.

Veggie roast with parsnips and cashew nuts. £6 per freshly-cooked* roast (plenty for two portions) or £11 for 2 roasts.  Will keep in your fridge until  Wed 21 Oct or can be frozen . *I have a few roasts in my freezer that I can offer for £4.50 each or £9.00 for two. They just have to be defrosted before re-heating.
