BAKING ON SATURDAY 13 MARCH

Collect from my home in CH2 between 2pm and 4pm this SATURDAY 13 MARCH.  If you haven’t been here before I’ll send directions when I confirm your order.  Any offers to volunteers to help with deliveries will be appreciated.

For the future please note that the Taste Cheshire Market that would normally take place on Sat 20 March has been cancelled.  My next bake will be Sat 27 March.

This Sat 13 March I’m planning to bake (with certified organic flours, as always):

CAKES etc

Mini Simnel Cakes (for illustrative purposes only)

Mini Simnel Cake (made in a baked bean tin) – £4.50 gift wrapped in cellophane – £3.50 in a paper bag.  Although nowadays we mostly associate Simnel Cake with Easter, it was originally a cake that girls in service were allowed to bake and take home to their mother on a rare holiday – Mothering Sunday

Walnut Pie – £24 for a whole pie.  3.00 per slice (this is 1/8 of a pie and is easily plenty for 2 portions).  If you order more than one slice I will not cut them separately, meaning that you can choose portion size.

Harry’s Cake (for lovers of nuts and ginger) – £16.00 per kg. Whole cakes cost between £7.50 and £9.00.  Half-cakes are also available.

Apricot energy bars with local honey – £2.50 per pack of 2

Almond slice with jam made from my own garden strawberries – £2.50 per pack of 2 slices
