BAKING SUNDAY 4 APRIL FOR ABBEY LEYS FARMERS’ MARKET, COLLECTIONS FROM MY HOME AND (FREE) LOCAL DELIVERIES

Buy at Abbey Leys Farmers’ Market 10am – 1pm SUNDAY 4 APRIL (Easter Sunday). See end of this post if you want to order in advance to collect at Abbey Leys.

Collect from my home in CH2 between 2pm and 4pm SUNDAY 4 APRIL (Easter Sunday). If you haven’t been here before I’ll supply directions when I confirm your order.  Any volunteers who can help with deliveries will be appreciated.

Saturday 17 April – baking for the Taste Cheshire Market on Chester Town Hall Square (10am – 4pm) and collections from my home between 1pm and 3pm. The Taste Cheshire Market can only go ahead with the agreement of CWAC.  I will send a line to everyone on my mailing list as soon as a decision has been made.

For Sunday 4 April I’m planning to bake:

GENUINE SOURDOUGH ‘HEAVIES’

Naturally leavened with no bakers’ yeast and ‘heavy’ only because made with 100% stoneground wholegrain flours (not because sourdough).

570g Stoneground wholegrain rye sourdough tin loaf with toasted hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds  - £3.40

800g Stoneground wholegrain spelt sourdough tin loaf – £3.50

BREAD with BAKERS’ YEAST

400g Miracle bread – £3.00

Miracle baps (in bags of four) – £3.00

400g Traditional white – £2.50

800g Traditional white – £3.80

400g Rosemary Bread – £3.00

600g Oaty Bread – £3.40 (‘Medium’ brown loaf with a soft crumb that toasts beautifully – and with extra fibre from Shropshire organic oats)

Oaty Barms (in bags of four) – £3.00 (Roughly the same size as Miracle baps)

600g Wheat and rye with caraway seeds – £3.40

OTHER YEASTED PRODUCTS

Teacakes (in bags of four) – £3.80

Giant Chelsea Buns – £1.80 each

CAKES etc

Walnut Pie – £24 for a whole pie.  3.00 per slice (this is 1/8 of a pie and is easily plenty for 2 portions).  If you order more than one slice I will not cut them separately, meaning that you can choose portion size.

Harry’s Cake (for lovers of nuts and ginger) – £16.00 per kg. Whole cakes cost between £7.50 and £9.00.  Half-cakes are also available.

Traditional Bara-brith £4.00.

Apricot Energy Bars – £2.50 for a pack of two.

VEGGIE & VEGAN SAVOURIES

Slightly spicy (veggie) cheese and onion rolls £1.50

Mild aubergine curry rolls £2.00 (suitable for vegans)

Veggie parsnip and cashew nut roast – eat hot or cold – each roast serves 2 main portions – suitable for home-freezing £6 each or £11.00 for 2
