BAKING ON SUN 1 NOV FOR ABBEY LEYS FARMERS’ MARKET AND COLLECTIONS FROM MY HOME

Abbey Leys Community Farmers’ Market in High Legh near Lymm in Cheshire runs from 1000 till 1300 on the first Sunday of every month (bar January).  I’m really missing being there in person but happy to say that Billy Powell will be selling for me again this month.  No need to order in advance but you can if you wish and it would help me to plan if I could get some idea of who’s going to the market and what you’d like to buy.

On Sun 1 Nov collections are possible from my home between 1500 and 1700.  If you haven’t been here before I will send you directions when I confirm your order.

If you live in or very close to Chester you can request a home delivery (no charge). If you’re willing to volunteer to help out with deliveries please let me know.

I’m planning to bake the following:

BREAD with BAKERS’ YEAST

400g Miracle Bread – £3.00

Miracle Baps (in bags of four) – £3.00

400g Traditional White – £2.50

400g Rosemary Bread – £3.00

600g Wheat and Rye with Caraway Seeds – £3.40

GENUINE SOURDOUGH (Naturally levened with no bakers’ yeast)

570g wholegrain rye tin loaf with toasted hazelnuts and toasted pumpkin seeds – £3.40

OTHER YEASTED PRODUCTS

Teacakes (in bags of four) – £3.80

Giant Chelsea Buns – £1.80 each

All-butter croissants – £1.00 each

CAKES etc

Bara Brith – £4.00

Harry’s Cake (for lovers of nuts and ginger) – £16.00 per kg. Whole cakes cost between £7.50 and £9.00.  Half-cakes are also available. Must be ordered in advance by contacting me

Walnut Pie – £3.00 per slice (enough for 2 portions)

Apricot Energy Bars with Mickle Trafford raw honey – £2.50 for 2 portions.

Lemon Drizzle – £4.00 (only available for collection from my kitchen – not available at Abbey Leys)

Individual potato-topped pies with cheesy naturally-grown leeks from my garden £3.20 each or £6 for 2.
