BAKING ON SATURDAY 5 DECEMBER AND SUNDAY 6 DECEMBER (NEXT BAKE SAT 12 DEC)

I’m baking on Saturday 5 December for the Taste Cheshire Market on Chester Town Hall Square (10 am – 4pm) and again on Sunday 6 December for Abbey Leys Farmers’ Market (10 am – 1pm).  As all my bread will be freshly baked on both days it’s a bit of a slog so I’m sorry but…

I am not accepting orders for Saturday’s market and there are no collections from my home on Saturday 5 Dec. (Too little time to collate orders before the market and I’ll need to get some sleep during the day.)

I am not accepting orders for collection at Abbey Leys on Sunday 6 Dec (too little time to collate orders before the market).  Anyone wanting Miracle Bread – please go first to my table (manned by Billy Powell). If sold out, please ask in the farm shop.

Wow your guests with my walnut pie

Walnut Pie. My pie is unique in Cheshire, so far as I know and I feel confident that it will wow you and your guests.   It might sound expensive but it’s incredibly rich and can be cut into tiny portions.  A whole pie costs £24 and will keep in the fridge until the end of January at least (as will slices) or both can be wrapped in foil and frozen for up to 6 months.   One slice is 1/8 of a pie and costs £3.  It’s easily enough for 2 portions but at the end of a dinner party with coffee it could serve 4 to 6. If you order more than one slice I will supply them in one piece so that you can choose yourself where to cut.  C, A, H

My 11 months-matured, nut-free, hand-made-with-love Christmas Cakes are on the brandy again and are now positively sloshed!  I sell them by finished weight at £15 per kg including a cardboard gift box.   You can choose a plain cake to decorate yourself (C, A, H) or a cake finished with your choice of fruits and nuts.   50p off  if you don’t need a gift box and supply your own tin.  Please ring me on 01244 300761 if you want advice on storage to help you decide if you want to buy now or order for later. £5 deposit secures a cake. There will be a topped cake on display at C, A, H where you can order for collection / delivery on a date closer to Christmas.
