BAKING SAT 9 APRIL

Veggie Parsnip and Cashew Nut Roast

If you would like to collect from my home in CH2 between 3pm and 6pm on SATURDAY 9 APRIL  or request a free local delivery please place your order by e-mail or phone as soon as possible. If you haven’t been here before I’ll supply directions when I confirm your order.  Any volunteers to help with deliveries will be appreciated.

NEXT BAKES after 9 April are Saturday 16 April  for collections from my home between 1500 – 1800 (and free local deliveries) then Sunday 1 May for Abbey Leys Farmers Market at High Legh near Lymm from 1000 until 1300.   Please note that the Taste Cheshire market on Chester Town Hall Square Sat 16 April is CANCELLED and I am not baking for the weekend of Sat 23 / Sun 24 April.

For this  SAT 9 APRIL I’m planning to make the following (all with certified organic flours as usual).  All bread and other yeasted products this week are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans unless otherwise stated.

BREAD WITH BAKERS’ YEAST

400g Traditional White – £2.50

800g Traditional White (boule) – £3.80

400g Miracle Bread – £3.00

Miracle Baps (in bags of four) – £3.00

600g Oaty Bread – £3.40 – suitable for vegetarians but no suitable for vegans

Oaty barms (in bags of four) – £3.00 – suitable for vegetarians but no suitable for vegans

GENUINE SOURDOUGH WHOLEGRAIN ‘HEAVIES’ (naturally leavened without bakers’ yeast)

570g  Borodinsky Stoneground Wholegrain Rye Sourdough Tin  with coriander seeds  - £3.60

800g  Stoneground Wholegrain Spelt Tin – £4.00

OTHER YEASTED PRODUCTS

Giant Chelsea Buns – £2.20 each

Hot cross buns with brandied fruit (per bag of four) – £3.00.

CAKES ETC

All suitable for vegetarians but not for vegans

Harry’s Cake - for lovers of nuts and stem ginger £16.00 per kg. Whole cakes cost between £7.50 and £9.00.  Half-cakes are also available.  Will keep for at least a month in your fridge.

Bara Brith – bbe 4/5/22 – £4.50

Walnut Pie – will keep for at least one month in your fridge and can also be frozen.  A whole pie (10 – 12 inch diameter*) costs £24.00or you can choose any number of slices for £3.00 each. 1 slice is 1/8 of a pie and is easily enough for two portions.  If you order more than one slice I will supply them in one piece so that you can choose yourself where to cut.  *10″ diameter pies are slightly deeper than 12″ dia. and both sizes weigh the same.  Sorry but it isn’t possible to choose which diameter unless you are ordering a whole pie.

SAVOURIES – all can be served cold or re-heated (instructions supplied)

Parsnip and cashew nut roast – £6 each or £11 for two. Suitable for veggies but not for vegans. One roast comfortably serves two as a main meal or is enough for 3 smaller portions.

Spiced butternut squash and sweet potato pasty (suitable for veggies and vegans) - £3.00

Savoury Brioche Tart with tomatoes and basil or with broccoli and stilton. Whole rectangular tart – £13 (approx 30 x 20 x 2.5 cm).  Half rectangular tart £7. Quarter rectangular tart £3.60.  One quarter is sufficient for two portions. Will keep in your fridge until Wednesday evening and can befrozen for up to 6 months. Suitable for veggies but not vegans.
